Mediating Nature /// Kitchener Public Library Art Gallery

December 1 - 31, 2015

“Mediating Nature” is a mixed media series inspired by the ancient animating cultural principal of bioregionalism. I creatively interpret elements my bioregion such as of natural systems, landforms, and organisms using foraged and recycled media on cradled wood panels. Through my work, I aim to seek truth in natural systems and reflect reverence for my local bioregion in honour of its physical and spiritual sustenance. The final product of this process serves as a mediator between community members and the natural landscape they inhabit and challenges them to live with a renewed awareness of the surrounding natural world.
