The Bloody Theater, also known asMartyr’s Mirror, is a collection of stories about Anabaptist martyrs. It was first published in Holland in 1660 and historically was an important text in Anabaptist communities, including the Mennonites of the Region of Waterloo. Dan Root and Meg Harder, both of Mennonite decent, retelling the mythological stories found within this text through folk music and illustrated projections for a contemporary and diverse audience.

Their collaborative performance features an original songs composed by Root accompanied by live illustrations created by Harder and projected using an overhead projector from behind a simple white sheet.
